Booking Terms and Conditions for The Drawing Academy for Young Artists
Students can only attend through applying to the school through the procedure stated on the webpage. A student cannot enter the school just through paying for the course. A place can only be confirmed through an interview.
Classroom Behaviour.
At the beginning of term a classroom behaviour contract will be signed by all students in order to create a safe environment for everyone in the class. If this isn't followed this student's place may not be renewed the following term.
CANCELLATIONS
Classes can be cancelled up to 7 days prior to course commencement date incurring a 10% admin fee for cancellation. We have a strictly no cancellation policy within the week prior to the course.
If a deposit has been paid to reserve a place on the course this deposit is non-refundable.
In the case of a lockdown or border closures affecting travel if you reside outside the bubble, the course fee will be fully reimbursed if cancelling anytime before the commencement of the course. If lockdown occurs in the middle of the course, an option of online classes will be given.
Missed Classes students
If a class is missed due to illness or personal circumstances your child will forfeit the class. This policy has encouraged good attendance and consequently steady progress in my students progress.
It can be arranged with a class mate or myself that a video can be taken of Manuela's demonstrations and sent through WhatsApp and worksheets will be passed on.
We politely request that if your child shows any signs of a cold that your child does not come to class to avoid possible flu or covid spread. If Manuela is contacted before class, recordings of any important demonstrations can be sent via social media and the work can be continued at home by the student.
In case of the the teacher being ill, all attempts will be made to recuperate the class on another week day or at the end of term.
BOOKINGS & CANCELLATIONS FOR ONLINE CLASSES with the Drawing Room
Online Classes can be cancelled up to 14 days prior to course commencement date incurring a 10% admin fee for cancellation. We have a strictly no cancellation policy within the 14 days prior to the course.
In the case of the teacher having to cancel a class due to illness, the class will be rescheduled.
The videos used during the course are the property of The Drawing room and Manuela Pilz. By enrolling, it is understood that you agree to not distributing any video recordings online, through emailing them to anyone or uploading to any website.
A refund or credit will not be issued if due to technical issues and attendance is not possible which is outside of The Drawing Room’s control (i.e. your home internet or computer stops working).
In addition, a refund or credit will not be given if you do not attend your online workshop for any reason.
IN PERSON CLASSES IN MUDGEERABA (NOT ARTABLE)
These terms and conditions have been updated to accommodate my travel interstate from Tasmania in order to ensure the course has reached its minimum bookings before travelling.
BOOKINGS & CANCELLATIONS FOR WORKSHOPS in MUDGEERABA
Face to Face Classes Cancellations or Transfers.
Credits and transfers
If you choose to change your enrolment to another course or workshop prior to 30 days of the course commencement, you will be credited 100% and we will waive the $50 administrative fee for the workshops and waive the $10 administration fee for Long Pose Life Drawing or Sketch Theatre sessions. This is due to the fact that giving enough advanced warning allows for sufficient time to replace the booking you had held.
These credits are available to be used for any future course and workshop run at Garasu Art Studios with The Drawing Room for the following 12 months after the date of booking. All requests must be placed in writing and emailed to manuelapilz.arts@gmail.com
Cancellation of Enrolment Workshops by you at Mudgeeraba, QLD
If you choose to withdraw from a course or workshop within 30 days of its commencement, you will be refunded 50% of the class fee.
In the case of the life drawing a $10 admin fee will be charged.
If you choose to withdraw from a course or workshop within 21 days of its commencement, you will forfeit 100% of the class fee as the tutor is contracted to fly interstate around this date and time is needed to replace your attendance to ensure the event isn’t cancelled and thereby not negatively affecting others wishing to do the course.
This is also valid regarding the life drawing sessions.
Cancellations incurred by the tutor.
In the case of the teacher having to cancel a class due to illness, the class will be rescheduled or refunded in full.
MANAGING COVID
This is a challenging time. We are aware that Covid restrictions will create obstacles and frustrate us at times and for this reason, I will endeavour to take these issues into consideration. However, to avoid cancelling all scheduled art events and this affecting everyone as a consequence of last minute cancellations, measures have been put in place to ensure these events can still go ahead or be rescheduled. For this reason, cancellation deadlines have been implemented. (See above)
The Drawing Room adheres to the state government rules surrounding Covid. Currently, you can still attend an event if you reside in a government declared hotspot if you are double vaccinated and present a clear Covid test within 48hrs of your event.
In the case of cancellation due to being issued with a positive covid test, you will be issued with a credit to use at another Drawing Room event which will be valid for 12 months after the date of booking.
