Have you ever wanted to do a life drawing class but have been too intimidated? Or perhaps gone to a drawing lesson and all the poses were too fast for you? Manuela's classes allow for nice long poses and with instructions for both beginners and more advanced drawers. She has a Teacher Training Certificate from Greenwich University, UK and specialised in teaching Art and Life Drawing.
Life drawing and painting directly from a nude or clothed model is of particular interest to Manuela.
The Tutored Class
9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Set up from 8.30 a.m. onward as the class starts punctually at 9 a.m.
- 4 hours of tutored class with regular breaks for the model. (morning tea and cakes included)
- $45 per person. (From 2020)
- Max. class size 10 to 12.
Before the model starts, exercises will be given on how to draw a part of the body. Each Saturday's class will focus on a different part of the figure which will benefit those coming each month. You can use the model to either work on the whole body or just practice the particular area that is demonstrated. Because we enjoy the model for one entire pose during the class, you can take your time to study its components. Some dates have an extension where you can continue drawing the model in the afternoon untutored( extra $27) which will be notified through newsletter.
“I often give demonstrations during the class which I believe to be an important part of learning. Seeing a tutor go through their process and solve problems on the page in front of you can answer a lot of questions that can’t always be easily explained in words.”
Usually every 2nd Saturday of each month (unless stated otherwise)
Dates for 2020
Feb 8 How to make the figure appear more three dimensional standing.
March 14 Drawing a semi clothed figure seated.
